Executive Director Job Description
Camp Bayouca is on a mission to reach, establish, equip, and launch people into serving Christ. We’re looking for an executive director to help us fulfill this important undertaking. Reporting to the board of directors, the executive director will oversee the strategic and operational efficiencies of our programs and staff. This leader will be responsible for the day to day operations of the ministry working in conjunction with year round staff, seasonal staff, and the board of directors. Leadership and communication skills are essential, and previous camp ministry experience is a plus. Above all, the executive director should demonstrate spiritual maturity in their daily lives.
Objectives of this Role:

He will oversee the day-to-day operation of the camp, which includes

Year round and seasonal staff d. Fundraising and donor development

He will work with the camp board to ensure that the mission of the camp is fulfilled.

He will work with the board of directors to cast a vision and direction for the future of camp.

He will build relationships with ministry partners (staff, churches, donors, volunteers).

He will be responsible for the hiring and dismissal of seasonal staff.

He will be responsible for communicating with staff, parents, donors, volunteers, churches, etc. regarding the direction, values, and operation of the camp ministry.

He will be the primary representative of Camp Bayouca with supporting churches and constituents.
-
He will be responsible for developing relationships with potential supporting churches and donors.
-
He will oversee the camp’s financial state as well as work to produce a budget to present to the board of directors.

He will be responsible to complete annual reviews of the year round staff and set goals for their growth in conjunction with the chairman of the board.

He will be responsible for conducting exit interviews with all seasonal staff.

He will be responsible for overseeing the promotion of the camp’s ministry with supporting and potential supporting churches.

He will have final authority on all emergencies and policies requiring immediate decisions during the operation of camp.

He will appoint the program leader or maintenance director to be in charge in his absence when camp is in session.
Skills and Qualifications:

Must be a committed follower of Jesus Christ demonstrated by spiritual maturity and fruit of the Spirit.

Must be in agreement with and implement the camp’s mission, philosophy, constitution, statement of faith, and policies and procedures.

Must have proficiency in leading in a team-oriented environment.

Must be physically and mentally healthy.

Must be able to adapt and think creatively under pressure.
-
Must be at least 25 years old or have a bachelor’s degree.
-
Previous experience leading teams preferred.
-
Previous camp experience preferred.

Summer Staff Job Descriptions
Aquatics Director
Must be 18 or older
Manage and create schedules for the Lifeguards
Gives oversight to all water activities
Administer the swim test each week (PSI needed)
Certifications Required: Lifeguarding, CPR, Lifeguard Supervision & Management, Waterfront Lifeguarding.
PSI preferred
Craft Leader
Must be 16 or older
Run and maintain the craft program/activities
This position also includes assisting the Office Manager with some weekly duties
This position also includes helping in the hospitality department
Health Director
Dispense medicine for campers according to NYS regulations
Check the cabins for cabin clean up each day
Attend to any injuries that happen throughout the week of camp
Daily document all injuries, sickness and medical dispensement
Communicate with parents regarding camper health information
Certifications Required: LPN or RN, First Aid, CPR (has to be renewed every year)
Hospitality Supervisor
Must be 18 or older
Supervise and work with hospitality team to
Run and maintain the camp store and snack shack
Keep office manager up to date on items that need to be ordered for snack shack
Clean the bathrooms
Prep the dining hall for mealtimes and clean up after meals
Prepare the cottage for weekly speaker
Lifeguard
Must be 16 or older
Work under the direction of the Aquatics Director
Help oversee all water activities
Certifications required: CPR, Lifeguarding, Waterfront Lifeguarding
Optional but preferred certification: PSI

Plan menu for the camp season
Make food orders
Prepare and cook the meals
Manage and supervise the Kitchen Workers

Hospitality
Must be 16 or older
Work under the direction of the Hospitality Supervisor
Help run the snack shack and the camp store
Clean the bathrooms
Help clean the cottage each week for the camp speaker
Prepare the dining hall for mealtimes as well as help clean up after meals
Kitchen Workers
Must be 16 or older
Work under the direction of the Head Cook
Help the Head Cook with meal prep and cooking
Serve food on the line each meal
Clean dishes after each meal
Help keep the kitchen clean
Maintenance
Must be 16 or older
Work under the direction of the Maintenance Director
Clean bathrooms and dining hall
Buildings and grounds maintenance
Mowing and weed-whacking the campground

Make a recap video for halfway through the week and the end of the week
Run the soundboard for chapel
